It's the moment you've been waiting for - you and your wedding party making a grand entrance and walking down the aisle.
But what music will you select for your classical wedding ceremony? Music has the power to set a mood, bring to mind emotion, and give moment unique character. Classical music is a traditional choice for wedding ceremonies.
The music at your wedding should be something to treasure forever - don't let it be something you would rather just forget.
If you desire to make your ceremony unique choose the harp for wedding music.
You can think of your classical wedding as having four "stages" when selecting your harp music.
The prelude is harp background music played prior to the wedding ceremony, while the guests are arriving and being seated. It is usually 15 - 30 minutes in length, depending on the wedding ceremony location and the number of guests.
During this time, you may wish to play quiet, meditative pieces or light and cheerful harp music. From there, your harpist can select appropriate pieces from her repertoire.
As your guests arrive, they are greeted by the sound - and the sight - of the harp. The prelude music sets the tone for the rest of your ceremony, so it should reflect the style of your wedding.
The harp is the perfect instrument to add something special to any occasion:

Depending on the order of ceremony, you may want one or two selections played during the wedding ceremony. Playing as your guests find their seats before the ceremony starts, time depends on venue and what you decide, but as a guide 20mins before the entrance of the Bridal party.
Music during the signing of the register and photos. Music as you 'walk down the aisle' and your guests leave the place. This might be a solo of a special song, background music for the lighting of your unity candle, or a meditative piece after a prayer.
Recessional music is played right after the ceremony, as the newly-married couple walks back up the aisle, followed by the wedding party. This piece is joyful and upbeat, celebrating the wedding that has just taken place. From time to time the first recessional is followed by a second similar piece, played as the guests are walking out.
